Wow! One of Crowe's best roles I think. He's never really the good guy and never really the bad guy but nonetheless he leaves an impact on you. Not to mention the score, loved the score too!
@stanmarsh just so you know this isn't Crowe's first rodeo. He was in the Quick and the Dead about 12 years before this, not sure what your personal vendetta against him is but I think he's a great actor. This film is also based on a short story so if you don't like the dialogue you can take it up with Elmore Leonard.
Crowe spoils the western genre. What a failure! The flick will be watchable without this guy. B---sh-t dialogues.
One of the few westerns I genuinely enjoy watching. The character development throughout the story is top-notch and the ending is truly spectacular in my opinion. A few nice gunfights and Bale/Crowe both deliver fantastic performances in this one.
